Welcome to Souls of Hip Hop: daily power thoughts. Harnessing the power of thought is fundamental in designing your best life and nourishing your soul. In this season, we share quotes, takeaways from our guests and affirmations to energize your day. Let this season help to awaken your best you, uplift, inspire and bring daily joy. Knowledge is power. Today's power thought comes from Pulitzer Prize winning African American novelist and poet most famous for authoring The Color Purple, Alice Walker, here's the quote: thank you is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, and understanding. Gratitude is an authentic feeling of appreciation for the things that happen in your life. When you feel grateful, you are not only acknowledging the blessing, but taking time to appreciate the impact the events made in your life. Humility is the quality of having a modest view of what's important. This quality gives peace of mind. It helps you to stay away from the stress and pressure of trying to become popular, powerful, and respected by others. Humility can also relieve you from attempts of being more significant. It can make you feel comfortable without lacking self confidence. Understanding is a sympathetic awareness. The skill of understanding others helps us predict what people might feel in a certain situation. But it also allows us to make sense of how people react. I know it can be hard to find this when you are dealing with adversity, but you can start with the fundamental things. So take a moment and think about what part of your current situation you are thankful for. I am grateful to feel the air in my lungs and the beating of my heart. I invite gratitude into my heart. Thank you Our theme music was beatboxed by Denis the Menace and produced by Zede. A big shout out to the brothers from Switzerland. The background music was produced by Taki Brano.
