Welcome to Souls of Hip Hop: daily power thoughts. Harnessing the power of thought is fundamental in designing your best life and nourishing your soul. In this season, we share quotes, takeaways from our guests and affirmations to energize your day. Let this season help to awaken your best you, uplift, inspire and bring daily joy. Knowledge is power. Today's power thought is about Kintsugi. In Japanese culture, there is a philosophy called Wabi Sabi, where you find and appreciate the beauty in imperfection This is where you will also find Kintsugi, a Japanese art for fixing broken pottery with a lacquer dusted with powdered gold. The result is pottery that has been pieced back together with stunning seams of shimmery gold, giving it a one of a kind appearance. This method celebrates the pottery's unique history by emphasizing its fractures and breaks instead of hiding them, making the repaired pottery even more beautiful than the original. Revitalizing it with a new look and giving it a second life. Now think about your life like a ceramic bowl. When life is favorable. It is like the bowl is being polished. But when we are burdened with adversity, it is like the bowl has been broken into pieces. The bowl can be thrown away repaired with camouflage adhesives to hide away the cracks. Or the bowl can be repaired with gold, showing that what was once broken, can be mended and become something even more beautiful. Our theme music was beatboxed b Denis the Menace and produced b Zede.
