Welcome to souls of hip hop: daily power thoughts. harnessing the power of thought is fundamental and designing your best life and nourishing your soul. In this season, we share quotes, takeaways from our guests and affirmations to energize your day. Let this season help to awaken your best you, uplift, inspire and bring daily joy. Knowledge is power. Today's power thought is about preventing unhealthy thoughts from taking root in your mind, body and spirit. I came across this Chinese proverb during my studies of tweener, the traditional Chinese medical massage technique. My teacher shared this quote, you cannot prevent the birds of sorrow for flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building a nest in your hair. Sometimes we underestimate the ability thoughts have to manifest themselves into our lives, which is why it's especially important to monitor the unhealthy ones. a helpful tip and beginning to monitor unhealthy thoughts is by acknowledging these thoughts as unwanted visitors. You don't have to be polite to them or even interact with them. But you have the power to stop those unwanted visitors from staying and building a home. acknowledgement of the struggle can be liberating and allow you to present them in a more manageable way. Today I affirm I will not allow negative thinking to penetrate my thoughts dictate my decision making or intimidate My hope for the future.
