Welcome to souls of hip hop: daily power thoughts. Harnessing the power of thought is fundamental and designing your best life and nourishing your soul. In this season, we share quotes, takeaways from our guests, and affirmations to energize your day. Let this season help to awaken your best you, uplift, inspire and bring daily joy. Knowledge is power. Today's power thought comes from American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker Jim Rohn. I was introduced to his books when I started as an entrepreneur in my teens. Here's the quote, if someone is going down the wrong road, they don't need motivation to speed them up what they need his education to turn them around. Making decisions independently is an important part of life. People have the right to make and take responsibility for personal decisions in their lives. People make their best decisions where they have good information, consider the input of others and take time to think through what is most important to them. So if you want to help someone, you first have to recognize that they may not want your help. So what do you do? Well, you can offer your help with the recognition that you're offering might not be accepted, asking them what would be useful, for example, emotional support or practical information, clarify and then connect their life purpose with anticipated outcomes of the decisions. Ask how this decision takes them where they want to go.
