Welcome to Souls of Hip Hop: daily power thoughts. Harnessing the power of thought is fundamental in designing your best life and nourishing your soul. In this season, we share quotes, take-aways from our guests and affirmations to energize your day. Let this season help to awaken your best you, uplift, inspire and bring daily joy. Knowledge is power. Today's power thought is one of my all time favorites by Bruce Lee. The idea of constantly researching and redefining your own experience was a constant theme in the way Bruce Lee lived his life. I first heard this quote from Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon Lee at a tribute jam in Fort Lauderdale a decade ago. So here's the quote, absorb what is useful, discard what is useless, and add what is essentially your own. Absorb what is useful: being selective in what we let into our life is important, especially during these times where there are so many things fighting for our attention. Discard what is useless: You can ask yourself, Is this helpful? Does it give me joy? does it support my goals in some way? If the answer is no, then maybe you don't need it and can discard it. Add what is specifically

your own:
